 Welcome you once again!

This is final part of the four phase series. We have seen how to create and design the InfoPath form on Part 1
In Part 2, we go through the step by step procedure how to integrate database connection in InfoPath.

In Part3 we learn how to map table field with InfoPath control like text box, select combo list, or in text areas.

In this final phase, we will see how to host this InfoPath application in SharePoint.

How to publish or host InfoPath form into SharePoint:

Well, now your InfoPath form is ready and you want to publish this into SharePoint.

Few things need to be noted here as below:

  • SharePoint use form library to host any InfoPath application.
  • InfoPtah file basically loaded the form in the SharePoint site inside the Form library and named it Template.xsn. This is basically a binary file.
  • To host the application into SharePoint you need one access into the SharePoint and must need web designer role.

Now, open the InfoPath form in design mode. Click on File à Publish. It will open the publishing wizard. Click on Next, and select To a SharePoint form library, and click Next.

Select Create a new form library, if this is the first time you publish the form. If you have earlier version, or doing some modification and upload, you can select the Modify an existing form library.

Click next and put your SharePoint url. Please note you can put the url without any page name. For example, if you SharePoint site url is http://sharepoint.conteso.com/sites/IT/default.aspx, you need to put the url http://sharepoint.conteso.com/sites/IT/ .

Once this will validate, the challenge response window will be appear. Put your credential and click ok.
